The Kvam series is based on a play with geometry, governed by the possibilities and limitations of jacquard weave. The motif clearly relates to the weave's horizontal and vertical directions, while the diagonal lines create rhythm and dynamics. The pattern gives associations to both Norwegian and Japanese motifs.
