The Åkle blanket is inspired by Norwegian traditional weaving - more specifically åkle in the painter Nicolai Astrup's cottage yard by Jølstervannet. The pattern itself is a simplified variant of traditional themes. The colors, on the other hand, lift the rugs up from tradition and into the present.
