Description
A sculptural statement piece, designed by a master of form.
This striking coffee table combines tempered glass and solid aluminium in a design created in the 1960s by renowned German designer Knut Hesterberg for Ronald Schmitt. The table's elegant frame is anchored by four sculptural columns of brushed and polished solid aluminium, giving the piece a bold yet refined presence that bridges fine sculpture and functional furniture.
Knut Hesterberg began his career at a graphic art and design studio in Zurich before turning his talents toward sculptural furniture forms in the late 1960s, working primarily with Ronald Schmitt Eberbach and, on a very limited basis, with Bacher Tische in Renningen near Stuttgart. His mission was to bring art into everyday living spaces — and this aerodynamically shaped table is a striking result of that vision, designed to make an impression in any interior.
The table remains in very beautiful vintage condition, with only light, honest signs of use consistent with its age.
